Introduction to the Game

Game Lobby

Welcome to the Game Lobby — the central hub of the Tropical Sagip experience.

Here, you’ll find five main button interfaces that guide your journey in the game:

Game Lobby Overview

  1. Play Interface
    Tap this to start a new game. You’ll be presented with a Philippine Map Picker, where you can select specific locations in the Philippines and simulate various disaster scenarios.

  2. Achievements Interface (Coming Soon)
    This will display all unlocked and earned achievements by the player. Track your progress and accomplishments here.

  3. Settings Interface (Coming Soon)
    Access and modify user account settings such as updating your character name and profile photo, or logging out of your account.

  4. Leaderboards Interface (Coming Soon)
    View the global rankings of all players. The system uses a custom algorithm to compute a score based on achievements, and generates a leaderboard of top players.

  5. Contact Us
    Need help or have questions? Tap this button to be redirected to our Customer Support Chat, where a team representative will assist you with any concerns or feedback.

Philippine Map Picker

The Philippine Map Picker is where your disaster response journey begins.

After clicking the Play button from the Lobby, you’ll be redirected to this screen.

Please note: the Map Picker currently supports a limited number of regions while in early release. Additional regions will be added in future updates.

Philippine Map Picker Interface

The Philippine Map Picker includes six main interfaces:

  1. Back Button
    Returns you to the previous screen.

  2. Select Previous Region
    Cycles to the previous available region on the map.

  3. Select Next Region
    Moves to the next region in the list.

  4. Select Region Button
    Confirms your region selection and redirects you to the Role Selection Screen, where you’ll choose your in-game role.

  5. Region Name Display
    Shows the name of the currently selected region.

  6. Region Star Achievements (BETA)
    Displays your performance rating in the selected region based on your gameplay achievements and skills.

More interactive features and regions will become available in future updates as we continue to improve the game experience.

Game Mode Picker

After selecting your desired region to play, you’ll be prompted to choose your Game Mode or Role.

The Game Mode Picker presents you with two core roles:

Game Mode Picker Interface

  1. Survivor
    Take on the role of a survivor facing a simulated disaster.
    Your objective is to make smart decisions, stay safe, and overcome challenges presented by the AI.

  2. Rescuer
    Step into the shoes of a rescuer tasked with helping others during a disaster.
    You’ll need to respond quickly, plan rescue operations, and support affected individuals as guided by the scenario.

Each role offers a unique perspective and gameplay experience to help players understand both sides of disaster response.

AI Chat Gameplay

Once you’ve selected your region and game role, you’ll enter the AI Chat Gameplay Screen — where the real adventure begins.

Here, the system dynamically generates story-driven disaster scenarios based on your selected region.
These scenarios are designed to test your critical thinking, decision-making, and disaster response skills.

The game difficulty (Easy, Medium, or Hard) is automatically determined by the region you’ve selected.
Currently, all available regions are categorized as Easy for smoother early access gameplay.

AI Chat Gameplay Interface

The AI Chat Gameplay has four key components:

  1. Game Information
    Displays vital details such as:

    • Your current game role (e.g., Survivor or Rescuer)
    • Selected region
    • Game difficulty level

  2. AI Response
    The AI will present story-driven events and challenges in a chat-like format.

  3. Respond Button
    Tap this to view multiple-choice responses.
    Each choice affects the outcome of the scenario and can impact your game stats.

  4. Game Stats Screen (Currently Under Development)
    Displays various player stats that reflect your in-game decisions.
    For example, a stat like Helpful Rescuer may increase by +10 XP whenever you successfully assist someone in need.

As you play, the AI evaluates your responses and dynamically adjusts the flow of the story based on your decisions.

AI Chat Gameplay: Player Choice Picker

When you tap the “Respond” button beneath the AI’s chat bubble, a modal popup will appear — this is the Player Choice Picker.

Here, you’ll be presented with the current scenario generated by the AI, along with a list of possible responses you can choose from.

The number of available choices depends on the difficulty level of your game:

  • 2 Choices → Easy
  • 3 Choices → Medium
  • 4 Choices → Hard

This interface has two main elements:

  1. Scenario
    A detailed description of the situation presented by the AI.
    This is shown prominently at the top of the modal.

  2. Possible Response Options
    A series of interactive buttons representing your available choices.
    The option you select will influence how the story progresses and may affect your game stats and outcome.

Choose wisely — each response can shift the direction of the story and shape your disaster response journey.
